CEO Welcome Message
Thank you for choosing African Rights Initiative International
It is important to put our continent in perspective and assume the full responsibility for our own development; exploring all the possibilities available. One step at a time with the perfect end in mind.
I have always held the belief that a great sense of responsibility, an act of selfless service to society is a strong foundation for nation building. Whether the world will move forward toward unity and widely shared prosperity or fall apart is dependent on the kind of direction the world chooses today. Our world has always thrived on the basis of mutuality.
Growing up as a child in Kokwado (subin Hill), a small and deprived farming community in the Upper Denkyira District in Ghana’s Central Region I observe helplessly and miserably many of my classmates and schoolmates fading away in poverty, pain and deprivation. As I observe these dear friends I could read pain, hunger, rejection, insecurity, inadequacy and hopeless ends, pictures of which are so fresh and vivid in my mind even after 19years. And our society is not getting any better.
I got the opportunity to continue my education aided by my parents and some angles God sent on my way. One of these precious friends (actually my classmate) died so prematurely and miserably. Out of frustrations he resorted to drinking, smoking and in the process died. Kofi Amoako as I affectionately called him was one of the finest footballers I have ever met. He faded away and flashed out of existence. I believe vigorously that something could have been done to salvage the situation; a good Samaritan somewhere could have given a helping hand.
As we reflected on the pains of our society; the pains of the faces of own people and the deprivation of the entire African continent, God showed us the ruins of our society and how collectively we can help build a system in restoring back the pride and dignity of man from the mirror of God. We seek to build a system where every individual feels part of the larger development; having a form of dignity characterized by innovativeness and strength; integrity, love, a sense of responsibility.
ARIl comes as a mandate from God to serve humanity with all sincerity and integrity of heart and to secure the basic right of all humanity to life, survival and security.
We holds the belief that human security depends not just on freedom from conflict and the threat of terrorism. It is also dependent on meeting basic human needs for shelter, food, and work, health and education. -having sense of self-worth. Unfortunately, for millions of children on planet earth, many of these needs are far from being met, even in the midst of plenty; poverty and injustice cease to be illusion.
The words Abraham Lincoln (the 16th president of USA) in a speech delivered on June 17, 1858, at the close of the Republican State Convention should be re-examined and given a second thought. “If we first know where we are and whither we are tending, we could better judge what to do and how to do it”
“Many individuals are benefiting from endless advances in human knowledge, yet many others continue to fall behind. The question is that “Can this rampant inequality in an increasingly interdependent world really be a growing threat to international peace, stability and prosperity? As a matter of urgency, to build a strong global future upon this kind of foundation is extremely impossible. The effort of government alone cannot meet the needs of the ever-increasing population, hence the need for individuals and cooperate entities to complement the efforts of government.
The time is up for us to ‘’ touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the grace we have received and may we not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work’’ Mother Teresa for out of this unleashes the blessings of the Lord that sustains society.
Dear friend, let us agree with Ruth Smelt zer that “we have not live a perfect day, even though we have earned our money unless we have done something for someone who cannot repay us”. We have a duty not to ourselves but to this great society of ours. As long as we have breath, may we not feel tired in contributing our quota to success of society. Our common humanity is more important than our interesting needs.
